Heal A School empowers schools in the Himalayan region through passionate, volunteer-driven support. By mentoring principals, training teachers, and providing essential resources, we help schools unlock their full potential and thrive. Healing does not wait for perfect conditions, it begins when people choose to care.
WHO LEADS THE JOURNEY
Thomas Santo has dedicated over 40 years to education, serving as a special education teacher and principal in U.S. public schools, while also extending his expertise through international service. Inspired by the challenges educators face abroad, he founded Heal A School, a volunteer mentorship program that, over the past three years, has grown to support three principals in India and one in Pakistan, collectively overseeing thirteen rural schools.
WHY WE DO IT
Because lasting change begins with people. Heal A School volunteers are experienced educators who connect through Zoom, an online video meeting platform, to build skills, boost confidence and nurture lasting growth all through support that’s personal, caring, and relationship-driven!
